Thanks! and no i did not use a tripod, but it was because I was in a car, and i was extremely tired. (It was like midnight after a loonggg day. lol)

First off, those lights are all cars passing by or lit-up buildings/signs/ect. Next, I slowed the shutter speed down. If you have an SLR then you can do that manually. If not, do what I did and try and find a setting with a slower shutter speed like a firework setting. Third, as far as all the criticisms about a tripod, I was in a moving car, it was at least 11pm, and we were on a highway. This is the best I could do with such short notice. Even with a tripod, I couldn't have done any better from inside a car. I also can't just stop on the side of a highway either. So you do the best you can, that's what photography is, isn't it? Sometimes you have to break the rules a little, do the unexpected, and do what makes you happy. That is what art is all about. Not technicalities like a tripod. I personally like it better like this. It definitely got more attention than a simple picture. But I do have pictures of normal traffic in my later pictures. Check them out!

Awesome picture, @Photography Lover!!!! And I TOTALLY get what you mean! Why can't people understand that the lights are supposed to look all shaky and squiggly? That's what makes it a piece of art. It looks all the cooler because the lines aren't straight. It would probably be somewhat boring if it didn't look like this. Anyway, I think it's really cool, and I'd really appreciate it if you looked at my pics! :D <3<3<3

You know what, PhotographyLover, whoever doesn't like that you didn't use a tripod is making a fuss about nothing, really. It's totally awesome without a tripod, and I don't see how it would be possible to use a tripod inside a moving car. It looks really, really cool all wiggly like that. Great job. I should do that sometime, but I live in a very rural area and I would probably get that opportunity about three times a year. :)

I like the variation of colors of lights. It definitely looks even cooler without some tripod because you then get some wobbly lines, which allow for an even more special and unique photograph. Great job. Sometimes the best of pictures happen at the weirdest of times... If you want come check out my pics.
