Old Things

A photo of my grandparents. My grandfather's WWI dog tag. An old spoon, my great-grandmother's 120-year-old wedding ring melded onto my grandmother's 70-year-old ring, a 1902 Indian Head penny, old Navy insignia button, my grandmother's junior high grad pin, 1939 penny, and baby Buddy!

Nice photo! I like how you put it in sepia. The composition is great, and the photo is interesting to look at. Another thing I like about this photo is, well I don't really know how to explain it, but I'll give it a go, that the objects are - important to you and your family. They tell a story, and that gives it a nice feeling. :)

Thanks guys! @ani<3animals, that isn't the oldest... I've also got one from 1890! It was a little too corroded to put in this photo, but I can still see the date on it. :)

Cool! Honestly, if I had any, old things would be some of favorite subjects for photography. The oldest thing I own is a fossilized piece of wood. Old, but not quite the best for photography. XD Anyways, this is very intriguing, with it's antique coloration to accompany the actual subjects and give it a very... vintage theme.

@~KiwiFruit~, thank you for your meaningful review! xD I love it! Yeah my mom preserved lots of stuff from my grandmother's time, during WWII. :D We have newspaper headlines from when the war was over. :D

Anytime, I try to keep my reviews meaningful. And that's got to be some old news paper strips! My mother's side of the family isn't into preserving things at all. They either tossed or gave away everything the think hey needed. My dad's side is a bit different, though, they keep a lot of stuff, their basement pretty full. They might have some old things, I never really thought to ask.
