nice color and contrast, and great composition with this. hmm, shouldn't the online award have appeared by now? @light&shadow, seriously? weird, maybe you're too far south, there's a great poppy reserve in antelope valley (the aptly named Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve, haha) and it's definitely the state flower for a reason-- i see them all the time.

@pointless/pics I sort of live in the segregated SoCal where it is Mediterranean rather than desert. That's probably why. I have definitely seen poppies out and about, usually on the side of the highway.
